Donald Trump and Kamala Harris were the two candidates to be president on Tuesday November 5, 2024 and Donald Trump won. In New York City, 43.7% of people voted for Trump and 56.3% of people voted for Kamala Harris. Even though Trump won the election, he didn’t win in New York state. A lot of people have a lot of different perspectives about the president.
Let’s hear the 6th grade students’ perspective on democracy and price changes under President Trump.
What do you think about the president?
“He’s a good president because he made Tik Tok unbanned,” said Elijah Rivera. “And he’s trying his best.”
“I think he’s a good president too but I hate how he’s boosting prices, for example a 6-pack of eggs are $10, I don’t know why,” Smil Ramos said. “It’s not his fault but he should try to lower the price.”
Noah Ledesmah says that he likes Donald Trump because he makes the country safer, and when Joe Biden was president things were all over the place, and that the democracy party is what it should be.
“Kamala Harris was going to do better if only Trump would have given her a chance because Donald Trump was already a president. He’s not that good [a] president,” an anonymous student said. “He’s a nice person and I don’t like him because he isn’t a good president, because he [is] moving people back in their country like immigration and stuff like that. That’s not right.”

“I barely like him ‘cause [of] how things are going right now in life…it’s not going pretty good and if Kamala Harris would have won it would have been better,” said Orlianny Tejeda. “I dislike his attitude and I like that he’s… social.”
