The Step Team went to perform in Central Park East High School on Friday, May 30th. The Step Team is a club that has been around since October. They have been practicing a whole lot with Ms. Beckles who conducts the team. “Of course I love teaching them,” said Ms. Beckles. “They are some of the best students and I love them all.”
Ms. Beckles started the Step Team in 2013. “I got the idea to start the club because I was on the step team in my high school then when I went off to college and then I joined the step team there as well,” Ms. Beckles said.
Students enjoy being on the team. “I love the step team and Ms Beckles is very sweet to all of us and I definitely love doing step and will join next year,” said 6th grader Tiyanei Nougbe.
“I love step and it’s amazing. I do consider doing step next year. It’s a really good experience for people who want to try something new and I love Ms. Beckles very much,” said Isabella Guillen.
Ms. Beckles said the performance went well and all of them did wonderfully. That is all the things the CHAH step team have been doing and practicing since October and we hope to see more next year.
