Rehearsing for the dance performance

Dance and music kids come together to make a good performance for friends and family who attend the Dance and Music performance. The students in the performance class put their all into this performance and feel confident enough to share this experience with everyone else.

Music and dancer kids had rehearsal for the winter concert on Wednesday January 15, 2025 at 5:30pm at George Washington Educational Campus. All their rehearsals were recorded to help them out with what was needed. Students have been rehearsing for months and have been expressing themselves to make this performance a well performed performance for everyone coming to watch and for themselves.

“I feel excited when performing because it gives me a boat of adrenaline, cause I like the feeling I get when I’m performing,” said Juan Jorge, an 11th Grader in Music Performance. He likes being a part of a band and performing with his peers.

Others also agree with Jorge that are a part of dance and music performance class, like Francisco  Alvarez, an 11th Grader in Music performance. He gets a little nervous, energetic and ecstatic when playing with his peers. He also likes being a part of a band, he and Juan shared the same emotions when performing.

“I like performing because I get to be myself and I feel confident when performing. I get nervous in the beginning but after I feel confident,” said Alvarez.

“My favorite thing about performing is getting the experience of learning new dances and dancing with my friends,” said Crisshel Guzman, a student in dance performance who seems to like performing and dancing along with her classmates. Also, she enjoys being able to plan the costumes and the dances.

Brianny Martinez, an 11th grader who is in dance performance as well, also enjoys dancing because she feels free and it boosts her confidence. “I like being in dance because of the mixture of different things such as dance and performing. I like performing because of the boost of adrenaline.”

All the students from CHAH love the fact that they get the opportunity to express themselves freely and they get to do new things in life. They all have been rehearsing for this concert since October 2024, every rehearsal allowed them to learn the dances and the music. They were able to express themselves when practicing.
