Behind the Speakers: Dalila Gonzalez

Part 1
Behind the Speakers: Dalila Gonzalez

The people who speak in the loud speakers are the principals or the people who make the announcements. One of the students who makes the announcements is 10th grader Dalila Gonzalez.

The announcements are played from the loud speakers, usually located next to the clock in classrooms. We usually hear them near the end of school around 2: 40pm. The announcement speakers have a very important job, like any job (as well as mine) in telling us daily news so we stay updated on school news/stuff. Without them we’d forget stuff for example dress down days, spirit week, or when there is no school.

Don’t you wonder how they got the jobs? If they like it? Well, here’s the Q&A with Dalila Gonzalez, one of the announcement speakers.

Q: How did you start?

A: Last year Krystal and I asked Tusher and Falciani, it wasn’t really that serious. We got in and started.

Q:  Does it affect your studies, if so how?

A: It doesn’t really affect my studies because it’s during advisory but if it did I wouldn’t have done it.

Q:  If not announcement speakers, what would you have gone for?

A: I would have probably stayed manager of boys baseball and girls basketball.

Q: How were you feeling before vs now?

A- [Before] I was really nervous cause I thought I would get bullied, [but] now I’m more confident because I get praised and stuff.

Next time we are going to interview another announcement speaker Krystal, a 10th grader. Stay tuned for more announcement speakers!
