Keylor Mejero is a junior in high school who plays basketball at a higher level than all his peers. He mentors other people in chah with his elite basketball skills and knowledge. Some of his disciples are Chase Allen, Noel Minaya, and Luis Gomez. The only person in chah who can rival keylor is Anthony Pina. His story is important because he’s the best in our school and he works so hard to carry our school on his back. Keylor aka “kdotty” is a man of very few words so this interview is a huge deal and we are blessed to hear his thoughts and opinions.
“I go to practice and practice my jumpshots, i practice my passing, my dribbling, and i like to practice with chase” said merejo
Keylor likes to play video games in his free time to decompress, but most of the time he’s in “the lab” which is slang for the court. He likes riding his bike around New Jersey listening to Justin Bieber and eating chop cheeses. These activities are important to Keylor because they allow him to decompress and be himself when he’s not on the court. “You know I like to ride my bike around in my free time. I like listening to jb as well.” said merejo
Some challenges keylor has faced was nobody wanting to 1v1 him in basketball because he’s too good. The way he overcame them was by 1v1ing people who are more skillful and less scared to 1v1.
Keylor’s future goals are making to the nba Keylor aspires to make it to the league and represent the Knicks Keylor plans to achieve this by working hard everyday and getting better every day
“I wanna play for the Knicks one day, I love them,” said mejero.
“I just wanna be myself and play ball, Ima take every opportunity I get, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take,” said Mejero. “Life’s too short to hold back or second guess yourself. You’re still moving forward. Every shot, every game, every moment is a chance to learn, grow, and get closer to your dreams. So I’ll keep pushing, keep believing, and keep playing my way because in the end, that’s what matters most.”
