I believe that this has been the best that the Giants have looked in a long time. I am saying this because of all the ups and downs that they had to go through just to build this kind of offense with a great wide receiver, as well as a brand new great quarterback and running back. Malik Nabers, Jaxson Dart & Cam Skattebo have the opportunity to make the Giants become one of the best offenses in the NFL today, and one of the best trios in the Giants’ history.
One reason I say this is because the Giants could have won the majority of their games this season if it wasn’t for the defense. Defense played a key role in their losses this year and it showed throughout the games where the Giants led in the third. The defense is definitely one of the weaker assets for the Giants right now, and with the firing of their defensive coordinator, Shane Bowen, I believe they are looking forward to the draft, which takes place on April 23-25 of 2026, to improve the lack of defense that is currently within the team.
Another reason I say this is because the Giants would be perfect had it not been for injuries. Injuries played a big role in the Giants’ downfall this season and without a doubt ruined two great rookie seasons from QB Jaxson Dart & HB Cam Skattebo. Plus the injury to up-and-coming wide receiver, Malik Nabers, injuries forced the Giants to not be at their fullest this season. But this could be a good sign for the future of the Giants. More draft picks, improvements to the coaching staff & a whole offseason to recuperate is all the Giants will need to be one of the best teams in the NFC East.
I think it is fair to compare the Giants’ newest quarterback Jaxson Dart to legendary Giants QB and 2-time Superbowl champion, Eli Manning. I say this because if Jaxson Dart goes the same route that Manning went through, the Giants will be able to secure one of the most unlikely championship victories in NFL history, similar to how Eli did back in 2008 & 2012. The Giants could very well be one of those teams to go from worst in the league to Superbowl champions, but that would be delusional to say.
I could definitely see the Giants’ new young core being a major threat not just to the NFC division, but to the entire league. I would recommend them as a team to root for because they have what it takes to become the next big underdog in the league. The future is bright for New York Football.

When Jaxson Dart is on, he looks great. You’re right. It’ll be interesting to see if he can sustain it this upcoming season.

Excellent analysis of the Giants’ performance this season. I agree with your focus on the defense.
