Regents week will be starting next week and it will come with a change of schedule. Every year we experience this one week in January where high schoolers have to take a test. But what is really going during this time? Since we have a joint school of middle school and high school things look different on both ends.
What are Regents?
The Regents are three hour long tests for high schoolers, in which you need at least 5 of them to graduate. Math, ELA, Science, Social studies and one of your choice, these are the 5 usual ones.
What is Regents week?
Regents week is the designated week were all high schoolers take a certain regent(s).This week in January closes off certain classrooms for the students who take a regents, so all middle schoolers be advised that that your schedule may be different for the following week (January 21-January 24).
How does Regents week work?
For this particular week many of the highschool students will have to take any of their required regents. Some floors and classrooms of our school will be closed off for this reason.This week is dedicated for the highschoolers to complete their required regents, this starts on Tuesday January 21 and ends on Friday January 24.
Don’t worry though it’s only a week.
