Humans of CHAH: Asdrubal Perez

On May 28, 2026. I interviewed one of the best baseball players at Chah. Asdrubal Perez who I spoke with in the library about his deep love and profound meaning of baseball. This is one of the many important stories because baseball isn’t just a sport to him but there’s a meaning behind that sport that he loves so much. “My name is Asdrubal, I would say many people know me as nonchalant, a vibe and I am known as one of the best baseball players here at Chah” Perez said. 

“I started liking baseball because of my dad, I started playing when I was 4 years old” Said Perez. As we sat in the library and spoke about a lot of many different things but the one thing that he mentioned is how curiosity leads to a huge love for baseball. 

“For me baseball is more than just a sport, it’s about conformity, peace, freedom and how you’re able to release your stress.” Asdrubal explains the meaning of baseball in his life. Baseball isn’t just any sport. But there’s a profound meaning behind his love for baseball. 

Although Asdrubal is one of the best baseball players here at Chah and everyone sees how good he is there’s an inner life that he faces on a daily basis in order to become a really good player. “ I find sports really stressful because although I love sports and I always try to be the best, it comes with a lot of sacrifice. I have to wake up really early, work my feet and I have to stay in shape and go to the gym”. Said Perez 

As I spoke with Asdrubal he mentioned that the most important part of his journey would be warming up. “ Mentally and physically I have to prepare myself. I prepare myself physically by warming up and getting my body up and avoiding any injuries. Mentally I prepare myself by observing professional players and try to pick up their good habits.”, said Perez. 

“My advice is for everyone to try sports out because it’s more than just a sport it’s art, bringing in a change, peace, freedom and relief.”
